After reading the good reviews about Gringos here on the blog, I finally had a chance to check it out for myself.
WOW….
As I walked through the parking lot, flashbacks of the old Chinese restaurant haunted me, then there was one time when I visited several years ago and I was severely disappointed in their “mexican” cuisine, smoke filled rooms and that smell of OLD…you know what I mean.
Jeff and I walked in to a very clean, professional looking restaurant. No pool table in the middle of the room. We were greeted immediately. Morris the chef, came out to meet us as well and spoke about his continued plans to upgrade the look and feel of the place.
I hope they change the name just to get away from the old reputation.

Their food needs NO upgrading though…. Morris knows how to cook. This is no fast food joint or greasy spoon restaurant.
I ordered the Mushroom Bacon Cheese burger (this is not a good weight loss choice). This burger is to die for. Rarely, do I have a burger someplace that doesn’t come served with mayo, mustard, ketchup… and this burger doesn’t need any condiments. It was delicious and huge and came with hand cut fries.
Jeff had the “Braised Beef In Guinness”. Slow cooked in wine and a touch of cinnamon, among other secret ingredients. Delicious.
They have soups and salads, sandwiches, pasta, fish and beef and an ever changing dinner menu. They are also open for breakfast on Saturdays and Sundays.
The prices are reasonable too.
Jeff said "that restaurant is a great find. Camas needs a place like that badly"
We were very impressed and all your reviews are true – great food.
Check them out. We’ll definitely be back.
