HANG UP! OR FACE A TRAFFIC VIOLATION AS A-

PRIMARY OFFENCE!

In nearby Oregon, come January 1, it will now be a primary traffic offense, carrying a minimum of $142 fine, for talking or texting or using a hand held communication device while driving. This is unlike Washington State, where it is at present, a secondary offence only. That is, Washington State violators will not be charged only with this offence, should one be stopped. But, it will be added on to the citation you might receive for speeding, failure to yield, improper lane change, etc.

Do you think this is a good law?

Do you think it is practical and enforceable?

Do you think it will stop accidents from occurring?

Do you think Washington should follow suit?

Have any of you been guilty of this offense?

Would you support such a law here?
